Street Harassed & Followed by a Car in Baltimore Co.

Jul 24, 2013 | Posted by User Submission |

Location: Baltimore County, MD
Time: Night (7:30pm-12am)

My experience felt (sic) with my friends and I walking to a party around 8pm on a Friday night. I was wearing a tight fitting stripped dress with wedged heels. I was walking up a busy street along the sidewalk. From behind me a car full of men blasting music and with the windows down yelled at me that my ass was nice. They all hollered and hooted at me and proceeded to yell ‘hey girl’.

My clothes are NOT an excuse for street harassment

Because no one’s “asking for it.”

An hour later after not getting into the party, the same group of men followed us down the street in their car. After minutes of my ignoring them they became annoyed and proceeded to cuss at me and call me a bitch. They said I wasn’t cute anyway and drove off laughing.

What gets me about this is the sensitivity of men and rejection. Whether I told them off or not, they were still going to harass me.
