Meet a CASS Rockstar: Renee Davidson

Meet a CASS Rockstar: Renee Davidson

Jun 14, 2012 | Posted by Claire S. Gould |

Another amazing woman joins our ranks (aren’t we so very humble!), Renee Davidson, as the newly minted Director of New Media. Her focus will be on…social and user-created/generated media. She has experience with media, but her passion is in connecting people and with people in REAL time. She’s already got the world on fire via Twitter.

Here is more about Renee:

As Director of New Media, Renee will be creating and managing content and campaigns for online and social media use, monitoring critical news and issues, producing press releases, and providing supervision and structure for interns, volunteers, and fellows assisting with social media. She has extensive experience in nonprofit work, especially in regard to programs supporting underrepresented communities.

Renee graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Women’s Studies and American Studies and a certificate in LGBT Studies. At UMD, she served as co-president of two social justice groups, spent two semesters as a Women’s Studies teaching assistant and worked at the nonprofit Journalism Center on Children & Families within the College of Journalism. Her undergraduate research thesis on sexual regulation within federal welfare policy, funded by an Honors research grant, was named the best project within her University’s Honors program as well as the department of American Studies. Renee has served as co-leader of WIN’s Feminist Conversation Series and is a three-time performer and organizer of The Vagina Monologues.

Welcome Renee into our lovely family via Twitter and in the comments below.
