“Excuse me miss, you dropped something.”

I was walking down the street to meet a friend for lunch, and noticed that I was about to pass several men. I always get tense in this situation because I get harassed on a daily basis, so I steeled myself and had my comebacks ready. I got past the group and started to breathe a sigh of relief when I hear, “excuse me miss, you dropped something.” Thinking maybe I had, I turned around to look. The guy was pointing to a totally bare sidewalk, pointing and telling me that I had dropped something! I responded, “I don’t see anything there,” and walked away, while the guy continued to catcall me as I hurried on my way.

I’m sick of it. What kind of guy tells you that you dropped something when you clearly didn’t just to get a better look at your ass? it’s beyond disgusting, I totally lost my appetite. What makes me more upset is that I just KNEW I was going to get harassed, because I’ve been so conditioned to not even be able to walk down the street in peace. The icing on the cake is always getting called a bitch when I respond, “stop harassing women!”
