“I don't need a ride!”

“I don't need a ride!”

Last Friday around 1 PM I was walking down P street towards 14th.  I was talking on my phone and I hear a taxi driver start yelling, “Hey miss” at me. I look at him but keep walking. He keeps yelling so I stop.  He asks me if I need I ride even though it is obvious that I am not looking for a taxi! I tell him, “No, I don't need a taxi” and keep walking. He is persistent and tells me that he can take me wherever it is I need to go.  I tell him, ” I DO NOT need a ride, please leave me alone.” I walk away and don't turn around when he continues to yell at me.  I am still on my cell phone and the person I am talking to keeps asking me if everything is okay.  If I was ever in this situation again I probably would take note of the cab number.  But I was running late and just wanted to get away from him as fast as I could.
