“I Was Flashed & Violated By A Public Masturbator in Columbia Heights”

Street art from our sidewalk chalking in Dupont Circle in honor of International Anti-Street Harassment Week.

Location: 13th & Irving NW DC (Columbia Heights)
Time: Night (7:30pm-12am)

I was walking home from the Metro along Irving St. I saw a man up ahead stop his bicycle and pull at his jeans. I thought he was just adjusting himself to be more comfortable on his bike. As he was biking past me I saw that he had his penis out and he was masturbating himself. I was horrified and booked it home. I didn’t feel like I was in danger but I still feel really violated. Looking back, I realize that he stopped his bike to take his penis out of his pants with the express intent of showing me and the other people walking down the block.
